A concise drive back to Home Station Lodge for a relaxing hot shower and a BBQ dinner around the campfire overlooking the Delatite Valley. Michael began riding almost as soon as he could walk, and is the second generation in his family to saddle up the horses and guide visitors deep into Man from Snowy River’ country, including the famous jump scene from the movie. From a 1 hour ride along the valley through to a 7 Day Lofty Country Adventure there's no better way to experience the beauty of the region. We appreciate a picnic lunch at the Dungeon Hut’ and then traverse bridle trails through to the Howqua Valley with many river crossings and plenty of opportunity for trotting and cantering. Rides leave from our farm and travel up to a ridge line that affords spectacular 360 degree views of the Lofty Country and the Delatite Valley looking towards Mansfield. We set off from our farm and ride through to the Dungeon Gully and then traverse the bridle tracks along creek beds and begin tracks to the Howqua River and the Hideout’ for lunch. Day 1: Appreciate a cooked breakfast before departing the Hideout’ for a short drive to our high country farming property that’s been in the Watson family for many generations. Behind a cooked breakfast we follow the high track up the river through Running Creek Reserve with spectacular views over the river. We stop for a lunch at Fry’s Hut before riding through to Seven Mile where we camp below canvas for the night by the river. Ride to the top of the lofty country : Experience all the Tall country has to donate on this exciting seven day adventure.
